Hope - Shoot 3

At this stage of the project, it was vital to develop a style, that mediates the emotions portrayed in the photograph to its audience—taking inspiration from Ruud Empel's works, who is lead by the minimalistic aesthetic, creating images that envisage the notions of childhood, memory and nostalgia. Here, in the final image, I used two photographs, where the ocean symbolises hope. The first photograph, however, a human figure is present, it is arranged as the secondary element. I focused on the green to apply the psychology of the colour green, as discussed in the previous posts. Green represents growth, hope and calmness. Using the concept of green gave this project a new turning point to explore. By merging both the images together, through double exposure, I created a metaphoric element of the emotion taking over the human figure. In the upcoming shoots, I am planning to work with the same style to experiment with audio, video and a bit of psychology of colours.
