The unexpected lockdown caused people around the world to pause abruptly and to deceive themselves into isolation. The streets were empty. There was not a person in sight. The entire lockdown reminded me of Alfred Hitchcock's Rear window. I was watching everything through a window. But unlike the movie, there were no humans around. I was observing nature. I was learning the pattern of weather. I was paying attention to every detail. It was my way of surviving. Dissociation, Chaos and Desolation. These were the three emotions that I could feel truly. Which I decided to visualise.
Dissociation /dɪˌsəʊʃɪˈeɪʃ(ə)n,dɪˌsəʊsɪˈeɪʃ(ə)n/
noun
the action of disconnecting or separating or the state of being disconnected.
Chaos /ˈkeɪɒs/ noun
noun: chaos; plural noun: chaoses
complete disorder and confusion.
Desolation /dɛsəˈleɪʃ(ə)n/
noun
noun: desolation
a state of complete emptiness or destruction.

Review
The hero of Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window" is trapped in a wheelchair, and we're trapped, too--trapped inside his point of view, inside his lack of freedom and his limited options. When he passes his long days and nights by shamelessly maintaining a secret watch on his neighbours, we share his obsession. It's wrong, we know, to spy on others, but after all, aren't we always voyeurs when we go to the movies? Here's a film about a man who does on the screen what we do in the audience--look through a lens at the private lives of strangers.
