The performer wears a fishtail shaped Headgear to depict the offerings served at the shrine, which itself is unusual as temples do not allow non-vegetarian food because according to Hinduism, vegetarian food is associated with purity.





The rhythm of music performed at Parassinikadavu temple is rather uncontrolled, which symbolises the notion of diversity.




According to Hindu beliefs, oil lamps with a piece of metal which has a picture of a Hindu deity embossed on it are used in temples as a symbol of prosperity. At Muthappan temple, the picture of Hindu deity is replaced by a dog on the lamp to emphasise Muthappan's hunter history.




Parassinikadavu temple represents thriving secular harmony.
